Sophie is captivated by the unique diversity that African wildlife has to offer and is passionate about using the art of photography to showcase this.  She believes that meaningful photography has the power to change the world. Therefore, she also believes it is important that her photography is used to glorify her subjects and aid conservation initiatives for them and their habitats.

Since 2018, she has been based in the Greater Kruger of South Africa, within a photography team teaching conservation wildlife photography, providing photographers of all abilities a platform to develop their skills and educate them on an ethical approach to photography that can support wildlife conservation.

This Botswana photographic safari begins in Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, and covers three different locations over nine nights allowing time to explore each area fully before moving on. Beginning with three nights in Khwai, in the eastern Okavango followed by 3 nights in Gomoti, the southern Okavango and finally ending with 3 nights on the Chobe Riverfront.

The camps and locations have been chosen specifically with photographers in mind. The Okavango camps are set on game rich concessions, where off-roading is permitted, allowing greater flexibility for tracking animals and positioning the vehicles for the best photo opportunities. All vehicles are equipped with adjustable arms for camera supports and in Chobe where we focus on the water, we use boats which have been specially modified for photographers with rotating chairs and camera mounts.

Flying between locations is done via a light aircraft, of which we've secured additional seats to allow for extra luggage allowance to be shared amongst guests - meaning you don't have to worry if you're bringing a lot of camera gear!

Day One - Three

Your safari begins in the eastern corner of the Okavango which boasts some of the finest and most consistent game viewing, with regular predator sightings and notably offers good opportunities to see some of the rarer species like wild dog. This area is well known for the excellent year-round game viewing, and while this has attracted a lot of visitors in the recent years this lovely camp sits in a less busy area and offers a fantastic safari experience. Activities focus on morning, afternoon and evening drives while walking and mokoro rides are also offered, water levels permitting.

Day Four - Six

Next you head to Gomoti Plains Camp which  lies on the Gomoti concession, just south of the famous Chitabe and Sandibe concessions, well known for the excellent game viewing, and Gomoti Plains guests can expect similar excellent game viewing. This area is particularly well known for fantastic predator sightings, lion, leopard are seen regularly and even wild dog. Rhino were introduced to the area in 2017 and this remains one of the best places to see rhino in the Okavango.

Day Six - Nine

Your last stop is set on the plateau overlooking the Chobe river with lovely views of the floodplains, this is a charming little hotel with a unique and striking design. Photography is at the heart of this owner-run hotel. DSLR cameras and lenses are provided free of charge, their 4x4 vehicles and boats are specially adapted to support photographers and there are dedicated areas for photo editing.
