HOSTING THIS TRIP
Sam has been a professional photographer for over a decade, starting off locally in England with wedding photography. His lifelong love for Africa eventually had him move out and taking on the role of teaching and managing photography projects in the Greater Kruger region of South Africa. He's seen his images and writing published in National Geographic, Africa Geographic, BBC Wildlife Magazine, Travel Africa and more.
Sam's core belief is that great photography is not hard to come by, but meaningful photography is, and his aim is to teach photographers the potential importance and impact their images can have in aiding and assisting the health and growth of our natural biosphere.
The Sabi Sands is in particularly well known for its amazing leopard sightings. The most elusive animal of the Big 5 is frequently spotted when going on a game drive in the reserve. As such, Sabi Sands offers the ultimate photographic safari one can think of. You can be certain to return home with some absolutely stunning pictures and memories. Besides the Big 5, other game species occur in great numbers, among which are over 300 bird species. Sabi Sands possibly makes the best South African safari destination for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers and bird watchers alike.
This photographic safari will have you based in the heart of the Sabi Sands reserve amidst all the action and beauty that wild Africa can offer. The lodge will be ours for the entire duration and offers guests the true African Safari experience, nestled in the shade of indigenous trees while sleeping safely amongst the wildlife. Have yourself an early morning coffee on your private deck while experiencing the blissful first rays of sun filtering through the thorn tree leaves. Renew your spirit by spending an afternoon on our elevated deck overlooking the bushveld planes and witness wildlife drinking from nearby waterholes. On those sunny South African days we've got you covered - take a splash in our swimming pool or read a book by the poolside.
Of course, the main focus of this trip is on the photography - and we'll be out every morning and afternoon during peak times with an expert field guide. In between game drives there's plenty of time to relax, although we recommend utilising the time to develop your photography with Sam as he conducts editing tuition and one-on-one private tuition.
Meet at Nelspruit airport and drive to lodge (approx 1hr30min)

Once again, the afternoon will come by and you'll be off on the search for game before returning back for dinner.
